A theatre group creates something together. Singing, dance and acting each offer opportunities to listen, respond and contribute to a shared performance.
Cues and cooperation
In a scene, one person’s line may be another person’s cue. A dance depends on awareness of the performers nearby. These activities let students practise paying attention to the group as well as their own part.
Sharing ideas
Improvisation can begin with different suggestions about a character or story. Trying another person’s idea is part of building a scene, and gives students experience of creative collaboration.
Getting started
A new group can take time to feel familiar. Tell us about your child’s interests or worries before a trial. Our main classes run in Romford, Shenfield and Chelmsford for ages 5–18.
