LAMDA Series Part 1: What are the Acting Grades?

How the Acting Grades Work

The Acting syllabus is divided into several stages, from Introductory levels for younger children to Grade 8 (Gold Medal) for advanced students.

• Preparation: Students select and rehearse monologues or scenes that suit their personality and skill level.
• The Exam: In a private room, the student performs their pieces for a friendly LAMDA examiner.
• The Discussion: Following the performance, the examiner asks questions about the student's character and the techniques they used.
